From Garden to Plate in only Twenty Metres
Growing one’s own food, and growing food for others, is a source of joy and satisfaction for many of us – the successes, the failures, the learning curve and the eureka moments keep us coming back for more for a lifetime. But why do we do it? …The answer is on your plate!
While Bronwyn of Wynlen House is taking us on a tour of the market garden, her partner Helen Lynch will be cutting some slick moves in the kitchen – they will be dishing up a tasty lunch of Wynlen House produce over a couple of courses. Meat, fruit and vegetables from the Garden will be served up at a communal long table in the garden (weather permitting).
As the trip from garden to table is such a very short walk, participants will have plenty of energy and enthusiasm to continue the conversation about food production, sustainable systems, determinate vs indeterminate tomatoes, whether red cabbage is prettier than white, or any topic at all that takes your fancy over a hearty and enjoyable meal with good company and our amiable hosts.
There will be a set seasonal menu. Food preferences will not be particularly catered for, however there will be a range of dishes that will be more than adequate for a vegetarian option.
Book early! There will be a MAXIMUM of 12 participants.
Booking is ONLINE ONLY: Please email your name(s) to stormcrow@bigpond.com – all bookings will be confirmed.
The cost for lunch (appetiser, main course comprising various selections, dessert) is $50.00 and is payable at the venue (Wynlen House, 92 Monkittee Street, Braidwood) on the day by cash or cheque.
Lunch and conversation will go for approximately one hour.
